Romans 15:4
The scripture for today is Romans 15:4
Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
To find support during trials and afflictions we must go to Word of God. He gives us instructions there that will enable us to stand during times of trials. We can learn from the examples of the saints who have gone before us that God is not moved by circumstances; He is moved by faith. The saints of old had their confidence in God; they had patience to stand until the victory was won. Yes, they suffered persecution and hard trials but God was always there with them. By their example we may learn to suffer and find comfort in all our trials. We see a wonderful example of this in the life of the apostle Paul. He wrote: "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them who are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation. For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us." 2 Corinthians 1:3-10
God in Christ Jesus has given us the victory in ALL things. The trials of this life must not be deterrents to our faith in God. In fact, the trials of this life only make our faith stronger. We are God's children and He, our heavenly Father, sees all that we do and all that we endure. He will never allow a trial that we are unable to endure. If God allows it, then we can stand through it; it will ultimately work together for our good. He will carry us to victory if we will but trust in Him. The more we must endure, the more we must pray. And the more we pray, the stronger we become. God allows trials because He wants us to learn to trust Him completely. The strategies of the evil one to destroy us only move us to draw closer to God. In every area of our lives, God provides us the victory through Christ Jesus.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
