Happy Sunday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Psalms 91:1-2

Psalms 91:1-2 He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

In his discourse about the secret place of the Most High, the psalmist uses the words "dwells" and "abide." These connote a position of actually living there. In other words, this secret place is not a place we visit from time to time; it is where we live; it is home. The word that is translated "secret" actually means a place of "protection" or "cover" or "hiding place." There is no safer place in all of the universe than under the shadow of the Almighty. Everyone who has been redeemed through the shed blood of Christ can find residence there. When we embrace His sacrifice on the cross, we accept His death as our own. The cross is the place where we surrender our lives so that we might live a new life under the covering of the Most High. This new life is marked by an abiding trust. We cling to Him, refusing to let go. Paul, in his letter to the Colossians, explains this life, "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." Colossians 3:3 Home for us is where Jesus is. We live together with Christ in God, under His protection and covering. “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.”

God bless you as you continue in His service.
