Psalms 37:11
The scripture for today is Psalms 37:11
Psalms37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
The fulfillment of this wonderful promise will come, not on this sinful planet, but in the earth made new for the children of God, when sin and sinners are no more.
While today it seems as if everything in the world is working against the Word of God, in reality, the Word of God is being fulfilled before our eyes. “In every age God’s chosen messengers have been reviled and persecuted, yet through their affliction the knowledge of God has been spread abroad. Every disciple of Christ is to step into the ranks and carry forward the same work, knowing that its foes can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. God means that truth shall be brought to the front and become the subject of examination and discussion, even through the contempt placed upon it. The minds of the people must be agitated; every controversy, every reproach, every effort to restrict liberty of conscience, is God’s means of awakening minds that otherwise might slumber.” Ellen White, Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 33
It is God’s intention that the new earth be populated with people who have been transformed by the Word of God. Their lives are not their own; they have surrendered all to their Lord and Savior. Their hearts are converted, their characters are pure, their lives are full of joy. They are the meek; they shall inherit the earth. May God use us as instruments to increase the population of His kingdom.
With such glorious promises before us, let us live our lives today in anticipation of the joy and peace that is the reward of the righteous. Through faith in His Word, we experience in our hearts what will be a supernatural reality very soon.
