December 7

Happy Friday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Psalms 34:17

Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

If it seems that this Biblical theme is repetitious it is because it really is. Holy Scripture again and again present us with the truth that is in our text for today. When the righteous are in trouble, God is there to hear their cry and give deliverance. That is why the psalmist can say with assurance, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me" Psalms 23:4

All of the struggles in our lives can be remedied by the application of the truth found in His Word. If God makes a promise in His word, it is for our benefit. We should stand on His promises and not allow the circumstances of this life cause us to waver. That is what a life of faith is all about. God loves to see His children standing in faith on His promises. We cling to His Word not just to get what we want, but rather to please Him.

A life of faith is a life that is God focused. It is a life that puts God and His Word before everything else. There are rewards of course, but the rewards are the byproducts of a trusting and obedient relationship with a loving God. It is out of fellowship with God that the life of God is expressed through us, His people. That life is a life of love and faith which facilitates our complete surrender to the will of God. Jesus lived it perfectly and left us an example to follow. It is because of what He has done, not what we do, that we are made righteous. And, because we have received His righteousness by faith in His works, we are enabled by the same faith to follow in the path that He has left for us. And, as we follow Him, the LORD delivers us out of all of our troubles.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
