Psalms 18:33
The scripture for today is Psalms 18:33
Psalms 18:33 He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places.
David spent much time trying to escape the cruel intentions of king Saul who was bent on killing him. Although he had behaved honorably and done much to defend Israel in the battles with their enemies, Saul, in his deranged mind, considered David an enemy. But while David was considered an enemy by king Saul, he was honored and protected by God.
That is the privilege of all of God’s children. Even in the face of enemies and those who wish us harm, God is still on our side. He has promised in His Word that He would never leave us or forsake us. Friend, that is a promise from God, and if God is for us, He is more than the world against us.
David, although he was few in number, was strong in the Lord. His faith in God had previously led him to victory over a lion, a bear, and the giant, Goliath. He experienced God’s presence and power when he was but a boy; now, as a man, he had a track record of dependence upon God, and victory through faith in God. God did not let David down; He was with him through his trials and hardships. He caused David to rise above the valleys in his life and climb to the high places. His steps were sure because God was his strength. David did not give credit to himself; He knew that God was doing the work. He glorified God and gave honor to the One who gave him direction and strength. He is saying in our text today that it is God who makes my feet like the feet of a deer, enabling me to walk securely in rough terrain and climb to heights of safety. God sets me upon my high places. I did not get there in my own strength, God brought me there safely.
What God did for David, He will do for any of His children. If we will have faith in Him, regardless of the circumstances we confront, He will lift us up to high places of deliverance. He loves us all equally and what He has done for one, He will do for all who stand with Him in faith.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
