October 16
Happy Tuesday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Proverbs 3:35

Proverbs 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the recompense of fools.

Given these options a reasonable person would, without doubt, choose glory over shame. Sin, however, makes people both unreasonable and unwise. Scripture tells us that "The wise in heart will receive commandments." Proverbs 10:8 Wisdom is demonstrated in the way one walks in obedience to instructions from God. The Lord is the source of wisdom and His commandments extend His wisdom to all who hear and obey them. In the absence of obedience there is no expression of fellowship with God, and without fellowship with God, there is no connection to true wisdom. Such a person will be more apt to create their own rules for conduct or follow the commandments of men.

The condition of the heart is reflected in our choice of behaviors. Professing to know God is not enough; the works of faith manifested through love and obedience more accurately reflects our faith in God. To quote an old adage "actions speak louder than words." God has provided for us the path to glory, and Jesus, who is made wisdom to us, leads the way. Our only need is to follow Him.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
Tim
