Proverbs 22_24-25
September 20
Happy Thursday Everyone,
The scripture for today is Proverbs 22:24-25
Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall not go: Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.
Choices are always before us, especially with respect to relationships. We are instructed: "Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men." Proverbs 4:14 "He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed." Proverbs 13:20 Why do you suppose God gives us these instructions? He gives them to us because He loves us and desires our good continually. God wants us to succeed, not fail. His instructions to us are always for our benefit; they are given so that we might choose life and develop Godly character.
The people with whom we spend our time are the ones who exert the greatest influence upon us. We become like the company we keep. If we spend our time with angry and unhappy people, soon we become like them. If we spend our time with God and Godly people we will learn Godly ways and become like Him. His character is imparted to us as we commune with Him individually and collectively. Christ has opened the door wide for us and made a relationship with Himself possible. Receiving Christ and His righteousness into our hearts is a wonderful gift that is given freely. And by faith alone a relationship with the Father is established through His grace. Through Christ Jesus, we have unlimited access to the Father and in His presence "is fullness of joy" Psalms 16:11 The joy that He imparts to us can be also shared in every other relationship that we pursue. Those who are angry and furious display their depravity, but sharing the joy of the Lord is a most wonderful privilege of the redeemed.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
