The scripture for today is Mark 11:24

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

The prerequisite for all prevailing prayer is faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 Our fellowship with God is a function of our belief and trust in Him. Without that foundation, we cannot know God at all.

When we come to God in prayer, we are acknowledging our dependence upon Him and our trust in Him. We honor Him through our love and obedience. As we commune with Him, we offer God-focused prayer and heart surrender. We believe; therefore, we pray. We do not pray doubting God; we pray believing God. His promises are given to us to encourage and enable us to stand with Him. Christ is formed in us as we pray believing. Our connection with our heavenly Father is what sustains us and that connection is maintained through prayer.

The prayer of faith always gets results because its objective is the will of God. God cannot turn His back on those who come to Him in faith; those who love and trust Him. When we pray in faith, we are standing on the word of God and God honors His word.

“Not because we see or feel that God hears us are we to believe. We are to trust in His promises. When we come to Him in faith every petition enters the heart of God. When we have asked for His blessing, we should believe that we receive it, and thank Him that we have received it. Then we are to go about our duties, assured that the blessing will be realized when we need it most. When we have learned to do this, we shall know that our prayers are answered. God will do for us “exceeding abundantly,” “according to the riches of His glory,” and “the working of His mighty power,” Eph. 3:20, 16; 1:19.” Ellen White, The Desire of Ages, p. 200  Pray believing and you shall receive.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
