The scripture for today is John 15:26

John 15:26 But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

The presence of the Holy Spirit in a life is a sure indication that the life has been surrendered to Christ.  The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit to fill the lives of those who, by faith, have received the merits of Christ and turned from sin to follow after righteousness.

Obedience to the Father can only be achieved as the Holy Spirit indwells the heart. Without His presence, a life of holiness is not possible. The Father and Son are glorified as the Holy Spirit directs a life into following the path that Christ walked, a path of love and obedience.

The spirit of prophecy is a function of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in our text today that the Holy Spirit would testify of Me. What is the testimony of Jesus? “…for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 Clearly, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, and that testimony comes through the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spiri,t there would be no testimony of Jesus, there would be no power in the life at all.

The Spirit of truth, who is the Holy Spirit, brings the power and ability to exalt Christ in a life. He is necessary for God’s plan of Salvation. Jesus said, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13 We need to power of the Holy Spirit to stand in these last days; we will not be able to stand in our own strength. The good news is that Jesus has promised to send us the Helper, the divine power from above, to be with us as we sojourn here. As we receive the Holy Spirit into our lives, we receive the testimony of Jesus and as we stand on His promises, nothing will be impossible to us.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
