October 10
Happy Wednesday Everyone,

The scripture for today is John 14:26

John 14:26 But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Spirit is the presence of God with us. He is not a rush of emotion or a passing feeling; Jesus calls Him the Comforter. What a wonderful way to think of the Holy Spirit; the One who comforts. There is no power on earth that can bring comfort to a spiritually distressed soul but the Holy Spirit. How does He comfort us? He gives us direction when we feel lost and He brings to remembrance the words of Christ, the living Word of God. It is the word of God that brings the power of God into our lives. It is His power that enables us to overcome every condition and circumstance that we confront. In the absence of the word, there is an absence of power.

Jesus said "It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63 The Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance the words of life. He reminds us continually that we have a friend in Jesus.  We can receive the Holy Spirit by surrendering our lives to Christ, receiving Him as Lord and Savior. Then we sincerely ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" Luke 11:13  Today is a good day to live life in the Spirit.  If we ask from a sincere heart, we shall receive. Jesus said so.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
