Isaiah 52:7
The scripture for today is Isaiah 52:7
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Your God reigns!
Israel, because of their disobedience, struggled under the oppression of the nations around them. But God did not abandon His people. The "good tidings" in Isaiah's prophecy are proclaimed by God's church today. This is made clear by the apostle Paul who uses the words of Isaiah in referring to the preaching of the gospel. "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15
The gospel that we proclaim is "the gospel of peace" and the message is "glad tidings of good things." Contrary to the opinion of some, we do not have a negative message. Our message is a message of hope. Christ Himself has done the work of securing for us these "good things." Even the work of carrying and proclaiming the message is through His provision; He enables the work. And because He is working through us, we cannot fail.
"Workers for Christ are never to think, much less to speak, of failure in their work. The Lord Jesus is our efficiency in all things; His Spirit is to be our inspiration; and as we place ourselves in His hands, to be channels of light, our means of doing good will never be exhausted. We may draw upon His fulness, and receive of that grace which has no limit." Ellen White, Gospel Workers, p. 19
"For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rear guard." Isaiah 52:12 By His grace, we will go in the joy and strength of the Lord and proclaim the good news to a world that desperately needs it.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
