The scripture for today is Isaiah 40:11

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

David said in Psalms 23, “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Under the watchful eye of the shepherd, the flock is secure and well nourished. The shepherd will face any danger, no matter how great, to defend his flock. The shepherd values each one of his sheep; even the weak ones are carried in his arms.

When the LORD is our Shepherd, we do not have a care. Even the young and helpless find security in the arms of God. Those who need special attention are not left or neglected. The Lord's care for His sheep is based on His ability, not theirs. His power and resources never fail; His children have no need to fear.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27 Sheep always know the voice of their shepherd. Even if flocks are co-mingled together, when the shepherd calls, his sheep will respond. If another calls, they will not respond to the voice of a stranger.

As we grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, our sensitivity to His voice grows. We become close to Him and know Him intimately; no other voice will command our attention. In the fold, we are nourished and safe. This is a wonderful promise from the Lord.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
