The scripture for today is Isaiah 24:14

Isaiah 24:14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing; for the majesty of the LORD they shall cry aloud from the sea.

“In the midst of Isaiah’s view of the destruction of the earth, he catches a glimpse of the salvation of the remnant. They will be like the few olives that remain on a tree that has been “shaken of a mighty wind” (Rev. 6:13), or like the few grapes that remain when the harvest is over. When everywhere there is weeping and gnashing of teeth because of the horrors that have come upon the world, the righteous will find that their sorrow has turned into joy and that the glad morning of eternity has dawned.” The SDA Bible Commentary. Vol. 4, p. 197

God has always had a remnant upon the earth who would, in spite of their circumstances, hold to their faith in God. They worship Him and, because of their love for Him, lovingly follow His word. While persecution may come, and hardships may arise, God has given His people precious promises. He is always there regardless of what is going on around us. In the days of old, when God’s people were scattered to other parts of the earth, they carried with them a knowledge of God who is righteous. Through faith in Him, they rose above their circumstances and that which was meant for evil provided the means of sowing the seeds of righteousness throughout the world. From wherever God’s people find themselves, “they shall lift up their voice, they shall sing.”

We sing because we are children of God and not the victims of circumstances. Our eyes are fixed upon Him, not the world or the things in the world. We are His and our destiny is in His hands. In this we rejoice and whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. Eternal life is our reward; not because we earned it but because He loved us enough to give it. We are thankful and we must be faithful from wherever we find ourselves; “for the majesty of the LORD they shall cry aloud from the sea.”

God bless you as you continue in His service.
