The scripture for today is Hebrews 4:13

Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

In every area of our lives, our behaviors and thoughts are clearly seen by God, our creator. He sees all and knows all. "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good." Proverbs 15:3 It is before this all-seeing and all-knowing God that we must stand in the judgment. To some, this reality is a cause for concern and distress, but to the faithful, it is a cause for great joy.

To those who have surrendered their lives to Christ and are daily directed by His Spirit, standing in judgment will be an opportunity to glorify God for what He has done. When we walk with Christ here, we will stand with Him there.

If standing before God in judgment, giving an account of your life is a cause for fear, you need to know Jesus, surrender your life to Him, and allow Him to uphold you by His hand. It is not our righteousness but His that we receive and present as the robe that covers us. It is not our self-directed activities that we pursue, but His. He directs our paths and as we follow in His steps our behaviors reflect the working of the Savior’s grace in our lives. As we have received from Him, we share with others and as we do so, the word of His grace multiplies, and lives are redeemed. He is doing the work and we participate with Him.

All will stand before their Creator in the last day and discover that their lives have been an open book before Him all of their days. To some this will be a cause of great distress but the redeemed and faithful will hear “well done, good and faithful servant.”

Because of God’s gift of His Son for the world, all are entitled to be free from the bondage of sin and death. He offers it as a gift, a gift whose value is beyond comprehension. As we stand with Christ now, He will stand with us during our time of need. In life and in judgment, He is with us and claims us as His own. We belong to Him and He belongs to us. He is our Savior; we are His friends. “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” John 15:14

God bless you as you continue in His service.
