The scripture for today is Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Our walk with God is a faith walk. It is not conditional; it is not determined by what we see. The only condition that we consider is that God has said it. We believe because we are convinced in our hearts that “God is.” And if God is, all other presumptions and notions are relegated to a subordinate position to what He declares. In other words, we believe because God says so.

Our faith is not blind faith. Our faith is based upon the evidence of God’s word and power. God has written His legacy of creative power in nature and those who discard the distracting deceptions of the evil one will see God through His creation and His word. The very existence of matter is a testimony to the power of God, and the existence of life is an extension of God to His creation. If we believe that God can create and give life, we can believe that He can do anything. That is faith; it trusts in God at all times and does not hold that anything is outside the realm of His ability. When we come to Him in faith, the possibilities are unlimited.

Too many stand on the periphery of faith without entering into a walk of faith. They are trusting in what they see, not what God says. They want evidence that is perceived through the senses, not by faith. “If you refuse to believe until every shadow of uncertainty and every possibility of doubt is removed you will never believe. The doubt that demands perfect knowledge will never yield to faith. Faith rests upon evidence, not demonstration.” Ellen White, Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, p. 69

Our evidence is not in what we see but in what God says. If God said it, that settles it. We believe Him.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
