Happy Ressurection Day
Happy Ressurection Day everyone,
This is an excerpt for my Sabbath sermon yesterday. "He Lives"
Mar 16:1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
Mar 16:2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
Mar 16:3 And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?"
Mar 16:4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large.
Mar 16:5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.
Mar 16:6 But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
Mar 16:7 But go, tell His disciples' and Peter ”that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you."
The men were hiding, but the women came to the tomb. It was considered safer for them. They came to anoint His body, but they did not find a body. They found an angel in the tomb and the angel had a message for them.
Jesus is Alive! He is risen! HE LIVES!
Then you realize that His power was never abated. The Roman soldiers did not take His life, He gave it for me. He went through all of that pain and suffering for me. Why? Because He loves me and does not want to be without me.
He knew that my sin had to be atoned for and the only atonement was death. He chose to die in my place. It was His choice. So, He gave His life, so that I might live.
And this morning as we celebrate this glorious season, we can do so because He Lives!
The most powerful man who ever lived, allowed Himself to be brutalized and murdered, without mercy, so that we could be saved. He did no sin, but He died for our sin.
And today dear friends, He is in Heaven, a real man with flesh and bones, who loves us so much that He willingly gave His life in the most brutal way. He did all of that for us. Yes, just for us.
A love that powerful should not be cast aside, it should not be ignored. It should be cherished and embraced.
Today I want to offer you the opportunity to embrace His love.
If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, this would be a good time to do so. During this Passover season, we remember what He did. He willingly suffered that painful death for us, will you accept His priceless sacrifice and give your life to Him?
Today would be a good day to say, thank you Jesus for what you have done for me. I want to give my life to you and experience your powerful love living in me.
He loves you and does not want heaven to be without you. Surrender your life to Him today and you will experience a new life in Him.
Tim
