October 12
Happy Friday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Galatians 4:6

Galatians 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

God's desire to relate to His children is so great that He bypasses their inadequacies and weaknesses and fills them with the Holy Spirit; supplying us with the same Spirit that Christ was anointed with. He is at once the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His." Romans 8:9 God, in His great love for us, was eager to redeem us back to Himself and transform us back into His image; the image that He created us in. Having redeemed us through the blood of Christ, He now fills us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus told the disciples "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you." John 16:7 His Spirit fills our hearts and through His intercession we are able to cry out to God with the same passion of Christ Himself, crying "Abba, Father." Matthew 14:36, Romans 8:15

We are His children and He relates to us as a loving father relates to his children; His love, however, is infinite. We have done nothing to deserve such an honored place in God's house, a place reserved for the immediate family. His love and grace has reached out, rescued us and given us this most priceless gift. Our hearts are in bondage no longer for God has sent the Spirit of His Son to abide with us forever. A response of surrender to such love seems like a small requirement for such a great treasure.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
Tim
