Deuteronomy 30:14
The scripture for today is Deuteronomy 30:14
Deuteronomy 30:14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.
God’s presence in the life is the hallmark of every true Christian. His Spirit and Word live in our hearts and because of that divine residency we live a life of love and obedience. It is through His transforming work that we can reflect His character and shine His light into the darkness of the world around us. There is life, light, and power in the word of God. It produces faith and illuminates the path of those who follow it; none who follow His word will be lost. “But what says it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:8-10
The way of salvation revealed in the Old Testament is the same as that revealed in the New Testament; it is through faith. Jesus said, “For had you believed Moses, you would have believed me: for he wrote of me.” John 5:46 All of the Bible points us to faith in Jesus Christ.
Christ, the Living Word, lives in the heart of every true believer and, because of His presence, we can not only speak the word, we can also live the word. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
