The scripture for today is Daniel 4:3

Daniel 4:3 How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.

King Nebuchadnezzar, a man full of pride, was warned by God in a dream and through the interpretation of the dream by the prophet Daniel. But pride still ruled in his heart and God humbled him by allowing him to lose his mind and live like an animal for seven years. After his mind was restored and his kingdom given back to him, Nebuchadnezzar was a changed man. He knew now that there was a God in heaven and that God established kings and kingdoms and God could also humble the proud. "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down." Daniel 4:37

After his experience, Nebuchadnezzar, who was previously a pagan, became a worshipper of the God of heaven. He realized that there was no other God but Him. All of the idols that he had esteemed before were nothing but the works of men, they were not gods at all. With new insight and humility, Nebuchadnezzar wrote his experiences down, hoping to encourage others to avoid the path that had led him astray. His desire now was for all to “praise and extol and honor the King of heaven.”

If God can change the heart of a prideful pagan king, an idol worshipper, God can move in any circumstance of life and reveal Himself to those who in their hearts are looking for truth but simply have been unable to find it through their own contrived means. May we continue steadfast in prayer for those who today are in darkness; God is able to bring even the worse sinner to the cross of Christ. Let us be faithful, like Daniel, and pray; God will be faithful and move in answer to our prayers.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
