December 15
Happy Sabbath Everyone,

The scripture for today is Colossians 3:15

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Many translations render "peace of God" as "peace of Christ." Jesus is our peace (Ephesians 2:14) and He is also God manifested (John 1:1, 14). In the presence of His prevailing peace, thankfulness is the only appropriate response. Peace and thankfulness walk hand in hand. We do not experience this peace in a state of isolation; we experience this peace in one body, the body of Christ. We are bound to one another in His body of peace.

If we are able to "let" the peace of God rule in our hearts, we must be able to "not let" it rule also. How does one "let" the peace of God rule?" When we surrender our lives to Christ, we allow Him to direct us through His Word and Spirit. The fellowship that we have with Him through His Word and Spirit removes all anxiety as we learn to trust Him. In that blessed fellowship with Christ, peace is the standard. Fear and fretting are not compatible with true Christian fellowship. Either we sit on the thrones of our hearts, making our own decisions, or we surrender to Christ and let Him sit on the throne of our hearts. When He is leading and we are following Him, there is peace and where there is peace, there is a heart of thanksgiving.

"No heart is right with God where the peace of Christ does not rule; and the continual prevalence of the peace of Christ is the decisive proof that the heart is right with God."  Adam Clarke

God bless you as you continue in His service.
