The scripture for today is Colossians 3:15

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

We are prone to be disturbed by the many strategies of the enemy designed to move us from a Christ-centered life. It is God’s peace ruling in us that enables us to maintain a sense of His presence while the world around us is filled with chaos.

We are instructed to “let” the peace of God rule in our hearts. That indicates that God will not force His peace upon us; we have to allow it to be there. We must desire it and take the necessary steps for His peace to rule. Those steps are given to us in the verses that precede our text for today. “Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man has a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” Colossians 3:12-14

Having given place to the peace of God, we are to "be thankful."  “Forgetting our own difficulties and troubles, let us praise God for an opportunity to live for the glory of His name. Let the fresh blessings of each new day awaken praise in our hearts for these tokens of His loving care. When you open your eyes in the morning, thank God that He has kept you through the night. Thank Him for His peace in your heart. Morning, noon, and night, let gratitude as a sweet perfume ascend to heaven.” Ellen White, The Ministry of Healing p.253

God bless you as you continue in His service.
