Happy Wednesday Everyone,

The scripture for today is 1 John 4:16 

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.

The Bible clearly shows us the depth of the Father's love for us: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16This is the quality of love that God has for us and the standard by which we know that His love is abiding in us. He was willing to sacrifice His only begotten Son so that we, those who had rejected Him, could live eternally.  

As an eyewitness to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ the apostle John has the unique perspective to speak knowingly of the love that God has for us. As such a witness his testimony is "we have known and believed the love that God has for us." It is not a matter of speculation on His part; it is a matter of faith based upon the manifestation of love and truth that He experienced.  When we accept that same truth into our hearts, the truth of God's love expressed through Christ Jesus, He comes into our hearts and changes us from the inside out. All who have the Spirit of God in their lives have the presence of God with them continually. The presence of God is the presence of love, for that is what God is. It is His presence in our lives that causes us to love as He loves and give as he gives.  

Sacrificial giving sets the standard for the expression of God's love. God gave the very best that He had and His love within us compels us to do the same. We offer our lives to Him, not in part but totally, and by so doing His life can be received by us and expressed through us. If we live in love, we live in God and God lives in us. If God lives in us, the life we live will be the life of God expressed through His love. In this present age of darkness, fear and hatred, the world awaits to see the manifestation of the power of the love God through His children. We have been called to be such a people for such a time as this.
