1 John 4:4
The scripture for today is 1 John 4:4
1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
False prophets and the spirit of antichrist were already at work in the early church. And they will continue to sow their seeds of deception until the very end when Christ comes and they will be destroyed by the brightness of His coming (2 Thessalonians 2:8). Although Satan has done His worse to destroy God’s church, the church of Jesus Christ still stands and will continue standing in faith until Jesus returns for His people. The true church stands, not in the strength of human effort, but in the strength of the Lord. They overcome false prophets and the antichrist spirit because of the presence of the greater One; “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 God lives in our hearts and through the power of His Holy Spirit within us, we are able to live in victory in the midst of the attacks of the devil.
Before He returned to heaven, Jesus said to His disciples, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18 The power of Satan, who is a fallen angel, cannot be compared to the mighty power of the Creator who lives in the hearts of His people. We do not have to worry about antichrist when we have Jesus Christ. We will overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11). Yes, the great controversy between good and evil will run its course and it will soon end. To those who do not believe the word of God, the outlook seems bleak. But we are not prisoners of fear, we are children of God. Take heart child of God; look up, for our redemption is drawing near and through Jesus Christ, God has already ensured the victory for those who are His.
